Anyone know why he scratched out of the Hirsch Turf Classic last Saturday?

I was speculating it was because of the soft turf at Belmont.

Anyone know for sure?

Track condition. He typically does not do well over off tracks.

I'd give him 1 or 2 more races. If he doesn't move forward, I'd send him to "Old Friends" if they want him. He's a Grade 2 winner and finished in 3rd in a couple of Grade 1s. He's well known enough. He's also a huge horse which will make him a fun attraction for guests.

Al Khali entered today in the Bowling Green.....a race he won FIVE years ago. How often do you get to see a horse run in a stakes race that it had won that long ago? Probably up against it today, however.
