anyone else notice how the track went from a nice fair track Friday
to a @$$#! moving-walkway-belt today??

none of the main track winners came from deeper than 2nd! all day , except the winner of the 7th (was wayyyy back in 3rd by0.5Lengths:rolleyes: and beat a wire-t0wire LONGSHOT by a neck)

25.1 50.0 going 1 1/16 in a alwnw3

40K clm 25.0 49.7

I guess none of the riders knew it in these 2 races today.

How can anybody from the back pass going that slow early?

Yes. I don't understand this crap. They were doing great and now this. Santa Anita gone too. At least we can still watch Woodbine if we want exciting finishes with decent sized fields.

today it evened out a little bit better

looked like the routes went too slow early today (all speed)

and some of the sprints, and the later routes the jockeys were forcing the issue a lot more and it wasn't as bad

Inconsistent maintenance or outright manipulation?
Or just a wacky uncontrollable surface?

Inquiring minds want to know.

good questions.

I used to keep up with the various "power harrow?" at x" depth etc... but I'm not even into the product there lately

It's hard to tell from just watching if they know there is something that they manipulate that is making the track go from a conveyor belt back to a tiring poly track seemingly at random.

one thing - if the track is at least consistent the jockeys(or is it too much credit) will try to compensate. However today we had the sprints with maidens going way too fast and the race falling apart.
by the time they find a happy medium the meet could be over!:bang:

Temp , dew point changes and inconsistent maintenance

Turf only is where it's at for me there.

Agree 100%. Have to show them we won't bet that fake surface.
