School has her frightened

My friend's 12yo daughter, they live in Long Island, has reflux already, being treated with medication, but gets literally pale and sickly each morning before going to school and tells her Mom there's a mean girl at the locker beside hers. I suggested she have a buddy to greet her at the door, but some of these schools don't deal with bullying, they just ignore it. I think the buddy system is a good idea myself. I did suggest horse riding lessons, but don't think Mom can afford just now. But to me that would be good for her self confidence.

Does your school do anything specific about bullying?
