Just thought I would open a thread for tonight's Breeder Elim card (day 1) at Pocono. Feel free to post up your thoughts as the night progresses. Will be posting here as the night progresses.

Race 1

Looks to be odds on at post time..my play is
(# 5) Broad Bahn over 1,2,4

Possibly play a key wheel DD if the prices are not to short. Keep an eye on your probables.

They got a lot of rain. I"ll be watching to see how the track plays. I do like a horse in the 6th race. MISS MALICIOUS - she showed me a lot a promise. I'm thinking she's ready to put it all together tonight. Great weekend of racing.

5 looks like she wants to fall over in the PP. I guess that's why she is going up.

Ill take a poke at the seven at 15-1. Boxing 247, for a shot.

So far so good....just playing Daily Doubles and Exacta tonight..

Broad Bahn took on all comers and had enough....loved the late close by #4 Swan In a Million....those two should be live next week...still a lot of racing to come.

Race 2
Using 3,5 with 2,3,4,5 and backing up with 2,3,4,5 with 3,5
Looks like its Flreclosure N's race to lose...last month was the largest number of foreclosures in the US history,,,is this a sign?

Was just chatting with someone about that.

For this track with $25M in slots, and an inaugural event, you'd think they would have seeded some pool each race, or offer 10% takeouts or something to get people interested.

The person I was speaking with said "racing continually thinks people are going to line up to play, just because they are stakes horses."

Race 4

Overnighter
Would love to have the option to play the supers for a dime so will not even try..

Looking to the #6 Six Pistol.....Palone is on a high today as he passed the 14,000 mark in wins....he now stands at 14,005 after his 9 win day at the Meadows...

6 with 2,3,8 in the ex...backing the up with 2,3,8 with 6

I've got the super pool closing at $2142

ex $6800
tri $6900

Is it possible these are correct?

If they are....and I think they are correct....How the fvck can they be that small?

I dont know, but I helped the payoffs!

I dont even know what horse is gonna end up chalk. I swore the 6 was gonna end up even.

I hope next week is better than this.

Turf Paradise just bet $125K on the worst field of 5K mdn claimers you have ever seen.

Should of went deeper in the 5th....the 6 ran me over like I was waiting to exit the interstate...oh well..

Race 7

Love two here, both will be low odds...
Will make my first tri wager of the evening.

See You at Peelers (# 3) loves the front end and short ovals is her forte.
Drop the Ball (# 1) is one fast filly and will be right along side early. Hope one of these two takes a two hole and waits till the lane....also hope the latter remains on stride.

Tri: 1,3 with 1,3 with All..

Since Pretty Catharine keeps killing my Shyaway bets the last bit, I am forced to go with her again :)

Race 7

It is all or nothing for Andover The Top (# 3).

This one broke the world's record earlier this year at the Meadows with her 2nd lifetime start. She wins or is off stride. Love these all or nothing types.

Depending upon race 6, might think about key wheeling her in the exotics.

Great Call on Miss Malicious...should of used her and pitched that breaking Drop The Ball in my exotics...
You know what they said, you can lead a horse to water but ....you know...

Going to be Andover in the ex pool and staying away from the tri

I have not got a winner since Bush was President, but I am keeping on firing. I will bet the one horse. Seems to be moving forward.

Earlier in the year I was very impressed with Lookingforadventure (# 4) at the Big M as well as other 2yr colts in Canada...exits last over this oval with a decent effort after his layoff since the Metro...

Two others in here look real strong contenders, Big Bad John (# 2) got over the Delaware County Fairs oval with no problem and looms large as well as the high earner (# 4) Fashion Delight who seems best to be racing from off the pace.

Will probably end up boxing these three in the ex and tri...

I am not sure why Morrill's horse is 25-1 here, but I am going to try and find out if it's an overlay or I am roadkill :)

Nice one on Gregory's trotter. I thought he'd bounce a bit off the big effort last time, but no way! Nice win.

My last race for the evening (win or lose)

Race 13

Big M (#3) is probably the best in the sport but Phil Hudon; though he does not hurt him, does limit his chances in the final. In this elim, he should roll over these.

My getaway wagers:

Ex
3 with 1,4,5

Tri
3 with 1,4 with 1,2,4,5

What a pussy Yannick was in this race (with a undeafed horse other than disqualification). At 3/5, you are not supposed to be in the pocket running over the guy in front of you as you go to the half mile pole. Most drivers trying to win would of took the lead and made them work for it. Sure, he may have more horse after this race but he has a week to recover.

The judges look the other way on these. Bottom line, he took the best out of this horse by holding him back over 3/4 of the mile. Not only that, he gave the public just one more reason to leave this sport for the flats. YOU NEVER SEE A POCKET TRIP in flats....

I guess I could of played the Pick-3 using the above picks but thought they payout would be too low...$184.80 for the 7-8-4 paid nicely...also should of turned the 11th keying the 5 first and 2nd....after all these years, I still get cheap near the end of the racecard...
