Post Race Positive for Luis Pena at Mea

Apparently his horse Nova Artist was post-race positive for Testosterone on July 31st (Adios Day) at the Meadows. He was fined $500 and horse was Dq'd.

Much has been written/typed of this man on all the harness boards.

I'm not saying this post-race + is acceptable, rather, that TCO2 levels are different within different jurisdictions.

He's not the first trainer that has made these jurisdictional border errors when changing locations.

Do believe Testoserone levels is for steriod use while TCO2 level is blood gasses which is trying to find those that use milkshalk (bi-carbonate mixture).

Think it was 2008 that they banned steriod use or might be 2009...forget the exact timing as it was right after they tore the Meadows down to rebuild the new so the timing could be late 2007 - early 2009...

My bad (and apologies) on the Testosterone, however the TCO2 was just provided as an example.

The acceptable levels of many drugs (as well as the "hours out") are different in many jurisdictions, even lasix.
