This is the death knell of the Obama Administration, you give your average American 40 days to read something in plain English that is counter to what the Obama administration is doing and your going to see people act as they did during the last slaughter of Democrat's with Clinton's mid term elections. God bless America.

I'm reading all about the regenerative cycle of division baloney while both sides SCREW the electorate in a good book The Second Civil War by Ronald Brownstein

Highlights/Excerpt

Here are some highlights. The full document is available at the link.

Jobs: - Stop job-killing tax hikes
We've had ten years of lower taxes. What has it accomplished? Do we have full employment? Not even close. Have we reduced the deficit? Just the opposite.
- Allow small businesses to take a tax deduction equal to 20 percent of their income
So, just like that they now pay tax on only 80% of their income. And you ask nothing in return. At least tie the deduction to jobs created.
- Require congressional approval for any new federal regulation that would add to the deficit
Apparently Republicans are not familiar with seperation of powers.
- Repeal small business mandates in the new health care law.
They're not going to repeal anything. One word VETO

Cutting Spending:
- Repeal and Replace health care
SEE ABOVE
- Roll back non-discretionary spending to 2008 levels before TARP and stimulus (will save $100 billion in first year alone)
Such as Medicare, Social Security, Unemployment Comp. Take everything away from the people who have the least. BUNCH OF UNFEELING BASTARDS
- Establish strict budget caps to limit federal spending going forward
Stupid, stupid, stupid!! Why do you think Califorrnia is in the shape it's in?
Because they have no flexibility.
- Cancel all future TARP payments and reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

Reforming Congress:
- Will require that every bill have a citation of constitutional authority
What does that even mean? Who decides? Is Congress now going to take over the function of the judiciary? These idiots don't understand that the constitution means more than what's on paper. Always has. Always will.
- Give members at least 3 days to read bills before a vote
How many bills go through Congress in a year? Thousands? Three thousand days a year. Something wrong with that math. These guys are idiots.

Defense:
- Provide resources to troops
Apparently that does not include body armor.
- Fund missile defense
I think we have that.
- Enforce sanctions in Iran

The whole thing is stupidity raised beyond the nth degree. Designed to placate the numbskulls who belong to the Tea Party. Any thinking person realizes how dumb this is>

one thing i see in this is "cut spending levels back to 2008 levels" etc.

i keep hearing about smaller gov't from the right, but are they actually going to get rid of so many of these programs???

seems to me gov't was still wayyyyy to big in 2008 than it should be, so bringing it back to that is still not the answer imho.

I understand who he was referring to. I object to his view that if you don' t live in this country, you don't matter. That you are somehow inferior. An attitude that is prevalent on the right. It is possible to like yourself without denigrating someone else. It is possible to disagree and not be disagreeable.
I disagree with 46 on a lot of things; or I think I would if I could figure out what he's saying, but I would not tell him is opinion has no value because he lives in Canada.

Right!! I'm going to pay a lot of attention to a diatribe by a guy who calls himself "Funbobbasso" In addition to the fact that he looks like a fool playing dress up, the whole video is replete with inaccuracies.
Laws must apply to Congressmen. They do. The HealthCare Bill, for example, does not exempt members of congress. Members of congress do pay into Social Security; they have since 1984. Members of congress do not get their full salary as a pension after only one term. The amount of their pension is based on their term of service and the amount they have contributed. A retired congressman can take his pension at the age of 62 with five years of service; at the age of 50 with 20 years of service; or at any age with 25 years of service. That last is kind of misleading since the earliest one can become a member of congress is at age 25.
http://www.snopes.com/politics/socialsecurity/pensions.asp
FUNBOBBASSO thinks he's Thomas Paine? Here is a quote from the real Thomas Paine:
Pay as a remission of taxes to every poor family, out of the surplus taxes, and in room of poor-rates, four pounds a year for every child under fourteen years of age. " Thomas Paine, The Rights of Man.
Sounds a lot like.........SOCIALISM!!!!!!!

Tom

Thomas Paine does not decided what is a right when it involves an obligation my part.

Right do not create obligations.

Notice the words surplus taxes.
We do not have surplus taxes.

The Thomas Paine youtube is to provoke thought, to suggest we the people and not the elite. You have your own opinion smell your fingers after and see if you like the smell perverts because if you believe in how we became great as a Nation you will loathe those with stinky fingers from being in other peoples pockets. You want to divvy the pie make sure it is your pie to divvy because I WILL NOT judge those who say stay the hell out of my back yard. You really feel your way is a trend that the election will favor lets see exactly how the majority really feels. If I am wrong on this then I do indeed have egg to wear, if you are wrong the road goes on forever and the party will never end, bank on it.

- Will require that every bill have a citation of constitutional authority
Boy wouldn't that be interesting. I've always thought they needed some mechanism like that.

It wouldn't be practical to have the court battle before each bill, but if they had to draft a statement as to WHY the law was constitutional in their view, that would be great. I wonder if they could make it retro-active? It would be interesting to see where they think some of their imaginary powers come from. It would also be interesting to see the SC put a bitch-slap on an explicitly declared line of reasoning when they really stretch things.

They'll never do it though.

They don't care about Gail. Nobody in Washington does. I'm not sure if politics is a lot like reality TV or if reality TV is a lot like politics - real people in real settings with real consequences - but still a charade, loosely choreographed drama for our viewership. Is that a little easier to stomach? Or, is it simply much more enjoyable if we can play along with the cast in the interactive home game?

So you don't want to limit Medicare right? So let me hear how you want our deficit decreased...since Medicare takes up the biggest chunk. By not letting the Bush tax cuts expire for the top 2%, right? There was a really smart guy on one of the political shows who said it right "Tea partiers want the deficit reduced, but they still want all the stuff." 2 + 2 = 0, the new Republican math.
