I want to convert some Word and PowerPoint documents to PDF format. I was told to download a free program from cutepdf.com. When I started to download it, my TrendMicro virus software blocked it (unless I overrode it). Has anyone used cutepdf.com? Is it safe to download from? Thanks.

I wouldn't go against your virus software. It could be just a problem with that site. I don't think cutepdf.com is the home site for the software. McAfee Site Advisor said they are just now beginning to check the site and had no rating at this point. Try downloading from another site. The home site for cutepdf writer is acrosoftware.com. I download files from majorgeeks.com without problems. Here's the links:

Thank you both- I went with the print driver version and it worked fine.

Bullzip is another free one, I have to say we use cutepdf all the time and it is not a virus, of course I guess it depends on where your getting it from but I would have to think it is a false positive.

pdf995 is good, and also bullzip pdf

Both install pdf printers, you just open what you want to be a pdf, print to the pdf printer and follow the prompts.

If you want one with a lot of bells and whistles check out Nitro Pdf. They give a free trial. I use it for years...
