From what I see going on in that state, being inarticulate and short on ideas won't hurt her very much. She represents the status quo within Arizona.
Why should a lack of intelligence be an obstacle?

The press focuses far too much on meaningless drivel like this and ignores the fact that Obama and Biden continue to lie through their teeth about job creation in this "summer of recovery". Are people THAT stupid to give more credence to selective YouTube moments than to the fact that our economy is in the crapper and will probably remain that way until Republicans take over the Congress and start making policies that actually promote private sector job growth? Given the fact that we elected this "hope and change" phony, the answer is a resounding yes. We ARE that stupid. We pay far too much attention to what Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan is snorting, who's hot on Survivor and which celebrity is cutting the rug on Dancing With The Stars and not enough attention to the futures of our kids and grandkids being stolen by a racist president and his lap dogs who continue to punish success and reward failure through socialistic policies that have been proven time and time again to NOT work. But hey, Lindsay's out of jail now so all is well.

Jan Brewer will be 66 in a few weeks. Are any of you detractors aware of the pressure this woman has been under the last few months? Trying to govern a state whose border is under siege, dealing with unending criticism from a hostile media, and at the same time getting no support and instead opposition from your own president and government is not what you would call a pleasant situation. There are younger men that could not handle the stress that this woman has endured. Governor Brewer has stood firm and has not blinked or given in. It has been said that Jan Brewer has more balls than her enemies, and that includes Barack Obama. Go Jan.

You've already destroyed it by voting for a lying racist president and a buffoon vice president whose priorities include traveling the world apologizing for America, tanking the economy and not knowing the difference between an illegal alien and a legal immigrant. Jan Brewer may not speak as eloquently as the annointed one but at least she speaks the truth.

Perhaps you missed the years 2001-2008 when choking on a pretzel, conspiracy theories from Bush having explosives planted in the WTC and New Orleans levees to being "wired" for the Kerry debates (the imagined bulge in his jacket) and forged discharge papers evoked that volume of posts. Obama has already proven how stupid he is anyway when he publicly stated that he'd been to 57 states, something kids learn before first grade.

The only reason Jan Brewer is now Arizona governor is that Janet Napolitano resigned to take a cabinet post. The only reason she may be reelected is her popularity with one issue (immigration) voters.
If she continues to give performances like she did at the debate, this race is going to tighten up rapidly.
I am not just referring to her opening statement.

And the only reason Barack Obama is president is that a dumbed down American electorate fell for the hope and change lie - hook, line and sinker. Some of his supporters actually thought Obama was going to give them money out of his "personal stash". You just can't make this stuff up. He's done more damage in 20 months than Jimmy Carter did in 4 years.

Some of us are still looking for just what he was doing when he was in his late teens and 20's. He has been strangely silent about his college and university yesrs, and for some puzzling reason no written records or evidence of those years has ever come to light. Surely there are many that knew him then, have they been threatened and muzzled? Could the silence be bcause he was an active member of the Communist Party, CPUSA, and this had to be suppressed at all costs?

What facts? The fact that he's traveled to foreign countries saying things like America's been "divisive and derisive"? Hey, that even rhymes. Or could it be the fact that unemployment wouldn't go above 8% if we supported his failed stimulus package? Or is it the fact that he's suing Arizona under the assumption that some rogue cop might abuse the law they just passed? And I just love the people who claim this law "targets Hispanics". Helloooooooooooo McFly, who sneaks in across the southern border? Eskimos? Everytime I've gotten stopped for speeding I've been asked to show some official documents like license and registration. Why should anyone be upset if an illegal is asked for the same? I know it's much easier to cry racism or bigotry but at least most Americans agree with the Arizona law. We haven't devolved that low just yet.

Paul Ryan. He made mincemeat out of Obama at the healthcare summit. He came prepared with facts and figures and all Obie could do was to restrict his time saying "I'm the president". I want someone who actually ran something like a state or a business and Ryan/Romney would know exactly what to do to jump start the economy. Obama is more interested in coddling the flunkies of society who couldn't hold a skilled job if their own mother was the boss.

As the Arizona Governor Jan Brewer may not be eloquent or even close to being a debator even against Mosti or Zilly Tiny Tim here at Past Advantage, but that has nothing to do with governing a state. The lady has a election to face soon, and if the left has only filthy people running against her, she will win.
Do we need to see a birth certificate? I think not, but BHO and everyone who stood with him and ramroded the extreme filthy legislation threw the Congress needs to get hammered in November. And Robert, is a guy like yourself who has health problems correct in thinking someone needs a face lift or plastic surgery? How has Mary Palmer been treating you of late boy?

Here's what I thought watching that video; maybe I'm alone in this, maybe it strikes a cord somewhere with my fellow travelers.

Look at what she has found herself up against: the federal government, not only shirking its constitutional duties, but on the attack against one of our 57 states. She is on the point in defense of federalism itself, a potentially historic moment. She has real concerns about real Arizonans, especially in the border towns, and has to merge those concerns with serious constitutional questions with a variety of consequential answers.

And she's sitting there being asked to boil all that down into a typical 60-second opening boilerplate response in a debate against a couple others who have no idea what they're getting into. It looked to me like she was thinking, "Are you f***ing kidding me?" And like she wanted to say, "This election will be won by what has happened and what is about to happen, not by the tired old debate crap that gets spouted over and over, everywhere."

That's what I think she was processing when it looked like she hit her wall.

Dewhurst says Phoenix has more kidnappings than any other city in the world except for Mexico City

Phoenix: No. 2 kidnapping capital of the world
Curbing illegal immigration was a leading war cry of the Republican Party of Texas convention in Dallas last weekend, and party leaders repeatedly rallied delegates by commiserating with Arizona, which has come under fire for its law that makes being an illegal immigrant a state crime.

Critics say the new law invites racial profiling. Defenders say it's needed because the federal government isn't securing the U.S.-Mexico border. Joining that chorus, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst told conventioneers Friday that "Phoenix, Arizona, I'm told, is now the No. 2 kidnapping capital in the world, right behind Mexico City. That's unacceptable in America. We understand. We in Texas understand the frustrations people feel in Arizona."

Play a round of golf, good chance you'll be kidnapped? That's a scary prospect, and ripe material for the Truth-O-Meter.

Brewer Finally Backpedals: I Was Wrong About Headless Bodies

Ooops

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) is finally backpedaling on her bogus claim that headless bodies have been found in the Arizona desert, the alleged product of illegal immigration.

"That was an error, if I said that," Brewer told the Associated Press yesterday. "I misspoke, but you know, let me be clear, I am concerned about the border region because it continues to be reported in Mexico that there's a lot of violence going on and we don't want that going into Arizona."
