Dave Dahl, our injured security guard who was hit by a loose horse on July 31st, remains on ICU after having picked up a hospital acquired infection and undergoing a third surgery. In talking to another guard who saw him two days ago, he is finally eating solid food and may be released to the wards soon.
There has been a policy change for the winner's circle as no groups are allowed in now, until the race is finished......The accident resulted in removal of the protective enclosure where those folks who decorate the winner would stand in inclement weather. I don't know what is going to happen as the rains are right around the corner. Rain is a pain in the tuckus for a television camera
A footnote to those who follow this track, Justin Jensen finally won a race last night and was he a happy fellow. Friends and family were there to witness it as well. Persistence pays off and he has quite a handshake.
