Excerpt:

Jeff Nahill of the North County Times thinks he has a better idea: leave Del Mar altogether and ‘don’t let the door hit you on the way out.’ He calls Baffert a whiner and says he was the real instigator of the legendary blow up between Joe Harper and owner Ahmed Zayat.

I normally like the stuff Jeff writes but he is out of line with the Baffert stuff.

Bob Baffert tells the truth and the truth is that the Polytrack at Del Mar is junk. It was totally innapropriate for the location and Del Mar was sold a bill of goods.

Jeff has been critical of Polytrack in the past so I would think he might support Baffert and his statement (protest). Baffert is also helping Horseplayers when he protests polytrack at Del Mar.

C’mon Jeff, Bob Baffert has a ton of class and always has. If you don’t think Baffert not returning to Del Mar next year will impact the meet then you would be mistaken. Baffert is saying and doing what other Trainers don’t have the guts to say and do.

For those who'd like a direct link to the article:

Harper sent Baffert a text message after the Classic on Saturday, offering congratulations and wondering if the trainer still hated Polytrack. The answer came back, "Yes." It's funny, but I don't think Baffert will decline to cash his portion of the nearly $800,000 that his horses won at the seaside oval.-- http://www.nctimes.com/sports/columnists/nahill/article_276f63c9-6cc4-5b6e-8c45-c1a71ff7d891.html (http://www.nctimes.com/sports/columnists/nahill/article_276f63c9-6cc4-5b6e-8c45-c1a71ff7d891.html)
As if dislike has to be the result of lack of success. :faint:

You can bet Baffert will try for a 3-peat with Richard's Kid next year, if he has a healthy horse.

As fate would have it, Baffert won both races, but he wouldn't consent to an interview when the Del Mar media department tried to contact him.

Sour grapes because he wouldn't provide you quotes & sound bites ? Get over it. If Baffert is a whiner, I don't know what to call this.

Right now about 18 of the 19 comments under the article are in favor of Bob Baffert.
