No doubt the Tea Party devotees believe in this grassroots movement. Real Americans who just want their country back and all that. The question is: Did this outburst of patriotism just explode because of Obama's actions or was there another reason?

If those of you gulping Tea want to know from whence you sprang, try reading the article at the link below. It's from The New Yorker magazine website and is dated August 30, 2010. You may want to make a pot of tea first. It's kind of long.

I skimmed it pretty quickly, but I didn't see anything alarming.

Knowing how I got into it and how many others did first hand, I did not need to read the article. The insane ramblings of those on the left have no bearing on reality, and especially the left here, which has shown itself to be rather disappointing in the common sense department. :D

Get used it NJ, a blood bath is coming in November. REAL American are fed up this jerk and his empty promises and hefty lies. Not to mention his long list of failure in every arena.

The Tea Party is an idea, not a party. There may be a tea "party" but I don not know anyone who is in it....everyone I know has the tea party "ideal."

More useless, hypocritical drivel. Those on the Left, when they become nervous, unsettled and filled with angst over mounting opposition forces, the first thing they want to know are the sources of all their funding. But this is never a concern to them with respect to leftist organizations.

A fair question, NJ; it reminds me that I've always wondered about the rise of the Genius-in-Chief himself.

I am sure my data are a bit fuzzy, but wasn't Superbarry's opponent for an Illinois Senate seat ruined by scandal at the propitiousest moment, leaving His Nibs in a DP primary walkover, after which he had only a Republican tomato can between himself and Capitol Hill ? Why, it's almost enough to make me, for the first time, actually proud of my country.

I actually think you're closer to truth than those hoping for meaningful change.

stinks, you can't force those people to come to rallies. They are coming because they are fed up. They ain't blind; they see the clear path to Socialism that Obama is clearing.
We are drinking the tea.
You are drinking the Koolaide.

Of course I am...... I'm a genius.

Nothing changes.... No matter what happens in November... In a year from now the same people will be saying the same stupid things on this forum as they are saying now.

Quit flattering yourself -- especially since I've been harboring doubts for quite sometime about the real impact of the results of November's elections. I'm way ahead of you. Always have been. Always will be. ;)

and

b) Why do you keep reading something stupid over and over again?
