I am trying to find some great pictures for the wall in my new studio. The theme I am hoping for is racetracks.

If you have any really good pictures of race tracks I'd really love to have them for my wall.

Since I am going to blow these pictures up to poster size, I need them to be very high resolution like 2,000 x 2,000 or larger. Yeah, I know... I am asking a lot. But, hey, they will be memorialized on my wall right next to my favorite picture:

We ask ourselves why Race Track Mgmt. has no respect for the Bettor. This picture may be the clue we've been seeking to explain the disrespect. Truly a picture is worth a thousand words.

LOLOLOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL:lol:

Oh Dave, he's so engrossed--or is he just flat out--gross? I think its a little of both.

PA has got a few "pitchas" that I took at Saratoga, that he will post, I guess . . . when he gets around to them--sometime in the next 12 months! Bubbles took a bunch, too. But I doubt, (at least I know about the ones I shot) not a single one in the bunch look like your guy here at Del Mar.

I don't know if there's any way that you can extract this one from the Museum of Modern Art website. (I had a copy of it hanging in my dorm room in college.)

That is an awesome picture --- Jim from Taxi on the left and Richard Dreyfuss in the red shirt!

Dave, you can purchase pictures from the NY Times!

PS: I am really looking for pictures of race tracks themselves, like Santa Anita, Saratoga Belmont, etc. I am thinking I will write to the tracks themselves.

Give it a few months, for the price you'd pay for the picture, you might be able to buy the actual track....

And you with comments too!

The Big A photo has me laughing so hard I can't see straight. The guy in the blue and white rugby shirt and the plaid pants . . . . man, are some of these hilarious. Tom you're right about the other one, that's us 30 more years down the road.

Dave,
Picked up a book years ago with pics of tracks and their configurations from the US and around the world.

"The World Atlas of Horseracing" by Julian Bedford.

Check it out.

There's one image that has stayed with me over the years, unfortunately, I don't remember the details -- what race, horse or the connections -- but I wish I had it as a picture. And if I did, I'd have it on my wall.

I believe it was a Breeder's Cup race. The owner of the winner is seen on camera with the trainer. She is very old and as her horse comes to the wire, the trainer has his arm around her, with his head close to hers, telling her what her horse is doing, and, as he crosses the wire, he's saying 'he won, he won' and the image of the joy and happiness of the both of them is very moving.

Are you thinking of Carl Nafzger and Mrs. Frances Genter on Unbridled's Kentucky Derby win?

I'm sure that's the one he is talking about...that segment is one of the greatest footage for racing ever...just look at Mrs. Genter's face...I never get tired of seeing it...it's goosebump stuff for me.

Dave...send jason a PM...his photos are outstanding...maybe he'll see your post, but me thinks he's kinda modest about his photography...the kid has tons of talent:ThmbUp:

Beth bought it at a garage sale for $1 and kept it hidden for 6+ months for my birthday. Great present!

They are actually a bit pricey and no better than the ones I make from the annual calendars.
