Not sure how to ask, or if there is an easy way to get what I want without building it, but ....

Can you just buy a list of Jockeys and what they are good/bad at ?

from meet to meet or year to year, or maybe the whole country.

All I can think of doing is going through a few months of Bris Premium PP's and writing some stuff down. or keeping track of a few weeks of turfday stats from youbet.

Like if there is a stakes race at 7F on the grass with an E horse.

I would like to know if my 18% jock, is actually only 8% in sprints, and 12% with E horses.

Anything out there ?

I think I could take the Earnings and Or win % list from equibase and enhance it with this info.

then update it every 6 months or so ?

Handicappers Data Warehouse has that information in their reports.

I don't use it but I think that http://turfday.com/club/archive.asp# may have what you're looking for.

Douglas, Bob Pitlak sells a little Jockey/Trainer software program that might do what you are looking for. I don't have the program but I've seen it for sale on Ebay in the past for less than $50.00. I checked and there is not one currently for sale but I found the link below from another item he has for sale.

ceejay- That has almost what I want but they do not cover how the Jock does with Running Style of horse like Bris does in there PP's

Longshot- Almost also, but... Only trainer-Jock combos

aaron-The RSPOS reprot has exactly what I am after but pretty high price.

I figure I don't care so much for the lesser known Jocks, and not so interested in the moving % on a day to day basis.

More to just know that this jock or that jock is fairly good at this or that but not the other thing.

I think I will be stuck just making a list myself =( but thanks.

If you have a collection of data and results files... JCapper.

Example:

query start: 8/17/2010 2:06:53 PM
query end: 8/17/2010 2:06:54 PM
elapsed time: 1 seconds

Data Window Settings:
999 Divisor Odds Cap: None

SQL: SELECT * FROM STARTERHISTORY
WHERE INSTR('DOMINGUEZ RAMON A', RIDER) > 0

Data Summary Win Place Show
Mutuel Totals 376.10 361.90 362.00
Bet -450.00 -450.00 -450.00
Gain -73.90 -88.10 -88.00

Wins 48 86 114
Plays 225 225 225
PCT .2133 .3822 .5067

ROI 0.8358 0.8042 0.8044
Avg Mut 7.84 4.21 3.18

By: Running Style

Run Style HDW Gain Bet Roi Wins Plays Pct Impact
0 -39.30 58.00 0.3224 3 29 .1034 0.4849 E
15 1.50 26.00 1.0577 4 13 .3077 1.4423 EP
30 -19.40 32.00 0.3938 3 16 .1875 0.8789 P
45 16.00 102.00 1.1569 15 51 .2941 1.3787 PS
60 -0.70 126.00 0.9944 14 63 .2222 1.0417 S
75 3.10 62.00 1.0500 8 31 .2581 1.2097 SS
90 -35.10 44.00 0.2023 1 22 .0455 0.2131 U

The above results are coming from a database populated with HDW data spanning (roughly) the past 60 days.

Here, I've created a sql expression to return results for a single rider. I've further broken the data out by HDW run style (by selecting Run Style as a break out factor from a drop down.) Someone using Brisnet data could just as easily break the data out by Brisnet run style.

The user is able to key in and execute sql expressions of his or her design and is therefore in complete control as to what comes back in the way of results.

The interface is also capable of generating reports showing strengths/weaknesses of multiple riders and trainers under a variety of conditions.
