The Mets have shut out the Phils at least 4 times this season, and I believe they lead the majors in shutout wins. They seem to have been involved in an inordinate amount of 1-0 games this year; does anyone know how many and what their record is? Also, what's the record for the most number of 1-0 victories by one team in a season?

Odd, because at the beginning of the season their big hole was supposed to be starting pitching; obviously, it's turned out to be their offense. Would have thought they would have made a move for a stick to try to get back in the late-season picture, what with Manuel's (and maybe Minaya's) job on the line.

They had a ton of 1-0 games back in the days of Seaver, Koosman, Gentry, Ryan, etc.

Since 1901, the record for most shutouts by a team in a season is 32 (not surprisingly, occurring during the deadball era), held jointly by the 1906 White Sox, and the 1907 and 1909 Cubs. (I don't yet know how many of those were 1-0 games, or what the single-season team record for 1-0 victories is.)

Here's an article from the MLB.com website on the overall increase in 1-0 games this season:
