Injury Update from Hastings / 46zilzal

For our friends who have wondered where 46zilzal is, he sent me an email with an update on the Hastings accident a little while back:

"Unfortunately Dave was not able to get out of the way and was the only one hurt.
I visited him yesterday at VGH and although he sustained some heavy injuries he is expected to make a full recovery.
He lost a meter or 2 of his intestine, it tore away from his stomach so they had to reattach it.
He has 5 broken ribs and heavy bruising."


This came from our winner's circle photographer in an e-mail today so, if you can, I would appreciate your posting it as a follow up.

As mentioned at the time of the accident, the injured security guy (Dave Dahl) is also trainer of a small stable at Hastings. Today in the first race, a horse co-owned and trained by Dave, was saddled up by his assistant trainer and won. Hopefully this positive news will help Dave continue his recovery!
