3rd race today (20 Aug 03) at Delmar #1 Wild Card Deck is the even money favorite based on heavy Beyers. A double advantage play. However, to me there was a serious red flag in the last work on 12 Aug 03. He went 4 furlongs in 51.4, that rated 37th out of 38.

I could understand if it was within 3 days of the race, but this was eight days ago.

To me this is a strong PLAY AGAINST angle.

Any thoughts?

I should note that the race was over before I started this thread.
Wild Card Deck finished 3rd at 1-1.

#3 Glow of Love 8-5 on the board was just scratched on the track with 4 minutes to post.

Last work: 13 Aug 5f 102.4 rated 50th out of 51 works that day.

I know there are a few trainers that like a number of real slow works. JR Smith Sr. often has horses win off a number of :54 "breezes".

Point taken.

I know alot of trainers that like to work slow.

But, in these two cases it was with an "H" and in California.

Red flags to me.
