First, let me stipulate I NEVER win at the Meadowlands betting on harness racing. Never. So I only bet it a couple times per yr, Hambo Day being one of those times.

Race 5 - the race with the huge show prices - was like stealing. A few races before race 5, I saw the horses for the 5th race warming up. The 3 horse for race 5 was dead lame; the action in her back right side made me wince. I looked her up in the program. It was the 3 (Put On A Show) in race 5 ---the morning line even-money shot. I said to myself there's no way this horse races. Race 5 rolls around - there she is in the post parade - she still looks bad. As Tim Tetrick warmed her up after the post parade, he started looking under right side. In my opinion, he knew something was wrong. I said to myself - she's going to be scratched. Nope. She's 2/5. She's 2/5 and I don't think she has any shot to win or even be in the money. Needless to say, she did not race well. I made a pretty nice score (hit the exacta using a $2 wheel on the 9). Did anyone else see Put On A Show warming up or in the post parade? It was unreal. I know this is a red-board, but I never win at the Meadowlands and I have to believe others in attendance capitalized on this situation, too.

I'm guessing 60000 of that 66564 to show came from a few jumpers
Pays to watch the warmups before you push the suitcase thru the window.

Good info. Besides a few $2,500 claimers that raced at Saratoga Harness 25 yrs ago, I've never seen a horse warm up that lame. If she races next week, bet against her with both hands. But my bet is you won't see her for awhile.
