I guess he went out on a high note

I thought it sucked that he was retiring because of injury since he had so much potential as a real great horse and then I read this comment on the USTA website by trainer Casie Coleman that soured me on the whole thing.

“He hurt his front left tendon and it really wasn’t that bad. We took him to Dr. Dan McMaster’s and basically he told us that he needs six weeks off and two months of training, so we thought we could hit the Breeders Crown but then we had a call from Pepper Tree Farm in Australia to stand him at stud,” Coleman told the WEG media department.

Seems to me the connections sold out for the possible big payday they could get by sending him to stud.

His feet are held together with wire and glue......Now he has a bow

At what point is enough enough?

The horse won 2 seven-figure races. If you own him and care about him at all, you retire him without any thought otherwise.

It's the horses who are sound and feeling good that sucks when they retire prematurely.
