The back-to-back trials of a pair of black lawmakers represent an unprecedented use of an ethics adjudication system that has rarely been used by House members accused of breaking House rules.

Waters' case revolves around allegations that she improperly intervened with federal regulators to help a bank that her husband owned stock in and on whose board he once served.

"Congresswoman Waters has chosen to go through an adjudicatory subcommittee hearing, rather than accept any of the counts from the investigative subcommittee," the source told POLITICO.
In layman's terms, that means she's going to trial.

_A rule that House members may not exert improper influence that results in a personal benefit.

There is no real need in this country for a 70 year old or a 80 year old telling us anything. Forget about race, I really feel someone younger than I are better to steer the ship. More to the point when anyone has been there over twenty years get rid of them because when they were first elected they were more honorable and well meant. The word polluted comes to mind without even going into race at all, the color of a persons skin means nothing to me.

I can only hope and pray that Auntie Max continues to go off the rails. I would love for her to become the poster girl for the Dems -- to be the face of Democrat Party -- so close to the mid-terms.

But of course, white Dems are telling her to tone it down. To not talk that way. But she's an arrogant, belligerent, militant airhead who won't take kindly to being told what to do -- especially by white folks. Even though Auntie Nancy has rebuked her, she might keep on talking to spite everyone and everything -- including the nose on her face. And if the white Dems get in her face too much, that would draw the ire of the Z Black Caucus, creating a rift in the party.
