There is actually no question where he is taking us. The regime is frantically trying to finish us off in this term before the next congress. Look for the full monty in the next several months, card check, public option, some form of amnesty for aliens etc, virtually every failed idea in the world.

The clock is ticking on them and they have to cram down as much as possible because these things are hard to undo. no less than than the fate of our country hangs in the balance over the next two elections. It may already be too late.

Personally, I think it is too late. For one thing, the senators up for reelection in '12 will fall on the sword as did their comrades for this upcoming election. They have far too much to gain long term than to worry about short term losses. Once Cap and Trade is passed, it's all over. It would be the final nail in the free market system.

Plus another huge obstacle will be the Repugs themselves. The only question is: How many of the good ol' boys in the Ruling Class will we unwittingly elect this November and in '12?

The only question is: Since the liberals are well on their way to revolutionizing our society largely against our will, do the People conduct a counter-revolution?
