Laurel Park - 7/31 - race 3- Blue Meadow is a 10 YO first time starter for Maiden Claiming 8000-7000 (bottom at LRL). Late bloomer ? I thought I had seen it all.... guess not

Saw an 8 year old maiden gelding, who hadn't run in like 5 years, get claimed the other night at Mountaineer.

Strange things happen.....

Twice as old as Alumni Hall when he debuted at Keeneland. I was there that day; 17-1 if memory serves.

Those 10 year old bones should be ossified by now!

He threw a bullet work at Rockingham Park in 2002, gotta respect.

He's so fast......they couldn't catch him until he was 9.

It's about time for him to start earning money to pay for ten years of chow.

I wish I could remember the horse but I saw a similar horse like this in the last month of Beulah. Approximate details were a 7yo 1ster, 300,000 sale price, in a 5000MdClmer. I remember the horse winning easily, and wonder where he went from there. Any way to query this?

I don't know how to find that but I find that amazing... they couldn't start the horse in a Beulah mdspwt at least :D . Why go straight to mdcl 5000?

Was it Buckeye Cruiser..he was a 6yo firster, but only cost $85,000. Won by 11+ lengths in 2500 claimer..hasn't run since. Lifetime earnings $1612.

The horse broke last and ran dead last the whole way. It looks like the trainer has not entered a horse since 2000. There was $168 bet on the horse to win. Those are 168 reasons why we need some form of exchange wagering.

Hmmm, thats close but I honestly remember being it a decent 6 figure Keeneland sale which made it stand out to me. Maybe I'm remembering wrong and it is that horse though so good job looking! The timeline i think fits because it was either the last 1 or 2 months of Beulah.
