I know most of the trainers- but which ones seem to have their stock "ready" when Saratoga opens?

Thanks!

The question is what low profile barns have their horses ready to fire. The Pletchers, Asmussens, and the like are always ready ( albiet) at shorter prices then the little guys...food for thought.

Well that's what I kind of meant when I said "I know most of the trainers". I was looking for the not so obvious ones. The double-secret 18-1 type trainers ;)

Bobbir Barbara is real good at clicking on a nice mutual, and David Duggan has his day also.

Not an everyday trainer at the Spa but one trainer I keep a look out for where ever he runs a horse is Roger Attfield. He has a number of turf horses which in all probability will be hitting the Spa.

I agree. Over the years I think she has been overlooked. I always give her entries a second look.

Tell you who's confusing the hell out of me this year.
George Weaver
Has been running at Belmont & Monmouth.
His horses look ready but aren't firing.
Is this cat & mouse.
Is he priming for the Spa.
If you know, let me know....I can't figure it out

PS; I know his stats, and know he's not a top trainer at the Spa ala the main giste of this thread.

Her horses will probably be underlayed after she won the trainer title last summer though , so others should be value.

A few years ago George Weaver was THE reason I showed a profit at the Spa, but his odds have come down as folks have caught on to him. He just isn't as overlayed as he used to be.
Speaking of underlays, I suspect Linda Rice horses will be bet WELL below their true odds as a result of last year....lookin to beat her this year.
Al Stall starts quickly, very quickly, as in his first starter of the meet has won like four of the last five years.

Only one way to beat Linda this year, catch one of her older horses that isn't running a turf sprint,on the dirt at odds.
If thats possible. :D

Just can't see Rice having a repeat of last year. I've seen Mott, Tom Bush, and Dave Duggan have a great Sar meet one year and a bad one the next...Robert Barbara too. My gut (that's trustworthy  ) tells me to wait and see with her.

Agree Phantom, she will not win it again or have that kind of year.
I meant like you said her horse's will be underlays.
I more or less was saying the only way to get a price on her horses was to catch one of her horses at a surface & distance she usually doesn't enter them in.
Just remember her underlays will make our horses overlays. ;)

sorry guys/ladies:

Linda is an icredible, hands on trainer and by the way, very rarely do I see her as odds on:
which is not the same story as Asmussen, Pletcher, Mclaughlin Dutrow
etc..

that said none of these guys (except Pletcher) look as classy
in the paddock or Winners Circle. ;)

Asmussen was 2 for 20 with two year old firsters at the Spa going back two years. Keep that in mind as you seem them at 7/5. ;)

Well, earlier in this thread I stated that Linda was gonna be underlaid and won't have a 2009 repeat and blah blah blah, but I kinda like her in the 1st with Abilio...wire job??? We may see Channing Hill take him to a clear early lead, esp if Winning Token (#1) scratches. He's got bad turf blood and has never been on the grass; maybe Bush entered in the hopes that this comes off turf and will scratch if it stays on.

Abilio duked it out 3w last time at 7f while going pretty fast early; then hit the lead and held 3rd thru a decent final split. Nice performance. Would like to see a work btw his last and this one, but he may be long gone nonetheless.
