Can the bulldozers be far behind given that it is owned by the same crowd that gave the heave ho to Bay Meadows?

You notice they go by daily average now because of the cancelled cards.

It's all spin all the time. Hollywood isn't alone.

Nowadays you manipulate the numbers and spin them any way you'd like.

Just like Los Alamitos and their handle spin.

The downfall of California racing started with plastic tracks. Can't anyone see this is the reason?

Is that right.

I thought the downfall started when the CHRB and the TOC failed
to address backstretch medication policies - and they still haven't.

I have no idea what started it, but 5-horse fields abounded on the dirt and now it's, what 6-horse fields? Awful racing before and awful racing after, no matter the surface.

And JustRalph, that's hilarious...buddy, you're a funny guy.

Only Thursday's card fits the bill of the proverbial "6 horse fields".

But in SoCal every meet starts out "fuller" at the entry box.
The true test will be what's happening in mid-August.

Is that when Del Mar turns into Hollywood-South ?
That's the eternal question and once again it will have to be answered.

So you're saying that the advent of plastic is the cause of a 20% increase in field size?:D:lol::D:lol::eek::eek::eek:

now horses obviously cannot talk but go ask any baseball or football player what they would rather play on and unequivocally the answer will be real grass!I played lacrosse on astroturf in high school and it gave me some real nasty burns that became infected......I am quite certain horses would rather run on dirt than poly and i know their trainers do.....
