I am getting old and the memory is fading, but didn't the Evan Shipman used to be the traditional closing day feature for the Bel spring meet?

Your absolutely correct. With the Belmont meet ending a week earlier than usual they bumped it to the Saratoga meet. Same thing with the Coaching Club American Oaks.

The Ruffian is taking the place of the Go For Wand, which was downgraded to G2 for 2010. NYRA figured they'd move the G1 Ruffian up here and not run anything in it's place at BEL in the fall.
