This horse ran again today, and won by 17 1/2 lengths. Pretty amazing Arabian.

I really thought after the third time he acted up that he was pulled up and out of the race. Never expected him to win!!

You know what this race reminded me of? Remember that old I Love Lucy episode when she gets a Standardbred? I forgot why but in the episode she becomes the driver of the horse. There was all kinds of wackyness in the beginning of the race and then all of a sudden Lucy's horse settles down and shoots past all the other horses and wins. You can replay this race and imagine Lucille Ball as the jockey and it makes for a perfect Lucy episode.

Amazing horse. Must be the Arabian cousin to Eightyfiveinafifty.

Another freak ran today at Delaware.
Sand Witchh 4yo filly beat older males going 1 1/16 after dueling in 50.4. She's now 7 for 7.
I started out clocking arabs at Los Al in the early 90's. The fastest arabian I've ever seen is a filly named Burning Fancy (I saw her last winter at Sam Houston)....Sand Witchh beat her by 7.5 and 24.75 last year.

There was a runner in the 80's named Raf Oak..They found out after a couple of starts that he was part thoroughbred.

I remember Raf Oak. I saw him run twice on the No. Cal fair circuit. He was winning races by 15 - 20 lengths. I always wondered what happened to him.
