http://www.monmouthpark.com/News.aspx?id=3677

The IZOD Haskell will be the first start since the May 15 Preakness for both Super Saver and Lookin at Lucky.

Uptowncharlybrown, Pasco Stakes winner, who like Trappe Shot, is trained by Kiaran McLaughlin; Afleet Again, the Butch Reid-trainee was runner-up in the Pegasus Stakes (G3) here on June 19; and,

One or possibly two entrants from the Nick Zito camp.

Considered possible for this year’s 43rd renewal of the Haskell are the Mark Frostad-trained Hotep, runner-up in the Queen’s Plate (G1), and Gunfighter, who hails from the Tony Dutrow barn and has won his last three.

The IZOD Haskell, as well as the Grade 3 $200,000 Oceanport Stakes, will air live on ABC from 5 – 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1.

This year's Haskell is 'Lookin' 'Super'

That is my motto for this year's Haskell—and it fits like a glove!

In all reality this year's Haskell is shaping up to be a very good race. Three of the Triple Crown warriors will be back with Super Saver, Lookin at Lucky and First Dude—along with the new shooters who are hitting thier best stride—Trappe Shot, Afleet Again.

I would think Nacho Friend will be in there as well. In or out—should be a good one.

I would also not be shocked if someone drops out and possibly heads somewhere else.

Nacho Friend's connections declined their invitation according to DRF.
Southern Ridge "may" go to the Ohio Derby for McBurney.

Should be about strong a field (given this year wasn't so great after all those lost on the way) but if it goes off with more than six I may be moderately surprised. It will be a good six, but still a bit disappointing.

That makes sense passing the Haskell. He will get a little more time and should see and easier field.

Uptowncharlybrown would be good for one of those stakes--Ohio Derby or West Virginia Derby.

Most likely, I'll be rooting for Lucky...hope Baffert has him tight as a drum and he doesn't come up a little short...I would love to see more entered, though...8 or 9 would be nice...I do think that First Dude will be tough in there...I really like that horse. I'll have to look him up...did they give him time off or did he stay training?
yep...should be a great race day:jump:

Considering Uptowncharlybrown ran a half with a major weight break and wound up 5th, he is a toss...Super Saver may like this track, LAL is the chalk......
