PLEASE turn off the guy at Meadows Harness...you know who I'm talking about - the guy that sounds like he's having a pancreatic attack everytime he's calling a race:
"The trotters are all innnnn LINE"
"Hereeee THEY GO"
"They're off and trotting...as they race into the turn"
"At the quarter, TWENTY SIX AND TWOOOOOOOO."

I am forced to hear this guy every 15 minutes at my OTB/stimul...I know people still play harness (I think) but I will do anything to get this guy off, he can take his "TWENTY SIX AND TWOO" and shove it.

Want to torture yourself? Go here:

Click any race and see what I mean.

OK I'll admit - he made this one exciting, but I could do without the same enthusiasm for a $6,000 purse race at the Meadows IMO.

This guy is awesome and you want to hold him back.

He is painful to listen to and tries way too hard.

In the olden days prior to simulcasting, they would play quiet music between races to calm down the fans.

In the simulcast age with continuous racing there's no more quiet music. Introduce the screaming voice from the Meadows and those seeking the memory of quiet music are looking for the volume off switch.

In our simulcast area, we only put volume on one tv, 98% of the time it's NYRA in the morning, and So Cal in the afternoon. Tuesdays i always put River Downs on to give my pal Pete Aiello the volume, and on big days from other tracks we'll put the volume on, such as Summit of Speed or what have you.

I'm spending the month of august going around to our 13 OTB's and doing some audits and other stuff, would love to hear what you guys do want from an OTB parlor.

any suggestions would be appreciated, please save the takeout rants though, i can't make em happen! :)

One of the best in the business. Not many that are better.
