maybe i missed it, but i haven't seen any news articles on the nasty spill
Tuesday Night @ Mountaineer, when a 3YO filly broke down near the lead on the far turn, & caused a chain-reaction spill. Thanks in advance.

According to his son's facebook page, Olaf Hernandez has broken ribs and punctured lung.

(Assuming it's the same Olaf Hernandez from WV.)

Same Olaf Hernandez.

Deshawn Parker was also injured breaking a couple of bones in his foot.

Off topic, but why is Horse Racing the one sport where press coverage of injuries is non-existent?

All you need is participant waivers.. See NFL and their weekly injury reports. There's really no good reason why it couldn't be done. Like steroid abuse, apathy has taken over here as well due to lack of leadership.

Olaf was at the track this morning with vest and helmet on. Should be back riding very soon. I think I overheard someone say his agent was checking him on horses, so maybe tomorrow or Sunday

Secrecy is racing's way of ignoring problems that will never completely go away. Maybe with data, neck braces like the NFL uses will be required.
