I HAVE BEEN PLAYING WITH ACCESS 2007 AND I AM TAKING A CLASS IN THE FALL, I KNOW THE HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT. UNFORTUNATELY HE IS ON A TRIP UNTIL SEPTEMBER.

When i buy a program from the DRf and I want to download it into access for some reason I end up with column heading of the program for the drf but no data.

I am quit positive this is a screw up on my part because the program says this is pont and click but I am not getting what I want.

Does anyone have an idea or a place to start looking or am I stuck until September.

Thanks everyone and have a safe fourth of July.

Most data providers deliver 1400+ fields per data file.

Although Excel 2007 can now open that many fields (columns)
Microsoft did not increase the column limits in Access. Still 256.

You need to use VBA to break up the the data into multiple tables.

I keep hawkin' this joint and will continue to do so. Here is a free week of classes. http://www.lynda.com/promo/trial/Default.aspx?lpk35=197

If you get through those classes I suspect you'll know more of Excel than the instructor in September. If you still have a need for the class

OxygenOffice Professional is a free variant of Open Office. It does not have these limitations on columns or rows. Much the same as Excel and you could try things out.
