Helping my brother find a MotorHome as his record for finding deals is something like 0-194.

He's looking in the 29 foot C Class.

Got me to start snoopin' around about a Class A 35'+. Might dive-in.

Can anybody vouch for the level of entertainment these things offer or are they a pain in the keister?

now is the time to buy.

I have a few friends that love theirs. Their biggest tip is "get the diesel"

More power and better horsepower.

Even the diesel only gets about 6-7 miles to the gallon and 5 when towing

Mack, I swear you love buying gas! Like that Dodge Hemi pickup you own doesn't burn enough. As Ralph says, diesel will help your bottom line. Still I guess one could say if you gotta ask about the gas mileage . . . well, ya probably don't need to be walking on the lot. Anyway, check out the top of the line . . . the Hemphill Brothers, they've got the corner on fine motor coaches, been doing their thing in Nashville for years now. The music industry loves the Hemphill boys.

Be sure to look at some of these used ones, Mack. They've got some REAL DEALS. They're cut rock bottom, tryin' to unload 'em. Get'cha money right now!

Yep, this would be a fine way to travel all over this country of ours. Think what you'd save on hotels, Mack. Plus, you could keep the fridge filled with food and beverage, and have a Weber on board for grilling in the evening.

Mack, I can spend "other folk's" money in hurry can't I? :LOLOLOLLLLLLLLLLLL

the old joke is there are two times you're happiest with your rv..
when you buy it...
when you sell it

i've had 2 different class c rv's for prospecting...took them in places most people wouldn't take a jeep..
my tip...they now have class c's with pop out sides..only buy pop outs..you'll need the room...shop for all the extra crap at the rv dealers, but buy it elsewhere..you'll see what i mean..join AAA or someone who gives road service..plan your stops with your gas milage..
they have one out here class c 26 foot..3 pop out slides...my wife would've loved it..

They say this clip is famous but I just ran across it the other day, I believe there's a movie coming out on based on this guy, Winnebago Man.

Buy a Cadillac ride in style and with the money you save on gas stay in a nice hotel.

PS - We just bought a nice boat we will not use enough to justify the price :)

Thought that owning one of those would be cool about 20 years ago, but had enough common sense to rent before I laid down any cash. Thoughts on RVs:

1) In most of the country you can't park them anywhere but in a trailer park. You want to hang out with the the trailer park folks?

2) You spend WAY to much time hooking up/unhooking the sewage connection.

3) You had to sit on the toilet to take a (very weak) shower.

4) You were never more than 10 feet from everyone else in the MH. Just walking around was more like dancing.

5) They drive like pigs. A big rig has better air flow. They drink gas, you need to constantly find drinking water to fill that tank, the propane tank needs watching and the sewage tank is lurking somewhere (you can smell it).

6) They depreciate about $10,000 a mile for the first week.

Needless to say, I did not buy one. My best piece of advice: rent before you buy. Rent, take a trip with the whole family, a long trip. If you come back sane, then consider buying. Or renting ever again.

couple of more tips..
never fill the water tanks all the way up when driving..why carry the weight..fill up just before you arrive..i usually stayed at an rv park the night before..
go to walmart and buy a box of those plastic gloves..it'll make emptying the "dark" water easier and cleaner..
never pay retail..you can get a used one for 5-10 grand..just get one with milage under 50k...14k was the most i ever paid for one..used it for 8 years..

Therein lies the rub. If Bro actually lives in it, and nowhere else, it might be almost okay.

Good luck to Bromac. .

Keister angle for sure, Mack.
