The Russians never quit spying on us, the FSB and SVR are just spinoffs of the old KGB from the Soviet era. Some senior US intel people believe that there are still a few spys left over from the USSR days in deep cover. While many of them have died or just quit and become inactive, there may still be some around. The ChiComs are just as active, or perhaps even more so, in directing espionage against us. The Cold War has never really ended, it just went into a more subtle phase.

Will Barry apologize?
Almost. He is cooing and gurgling at the Russkys and has stated that this incident will not affect relations between the two nations. So Puten acts hurt because his agents have been nabbed, meanwhile oBowma just shrugs and says or does nothing out of the ordinary. Expected conduct from this walking disaster.

More than likely and he'll throw in a bow or two.

Maybe Vlad will take him hunting.

A friend of mine was classmates with the Murphy woman, even worked together with her on some projects. He was just a little freaked out on this one.

Wow! one of the "alleged" spies is pretty hot. (http://www.nydailynews.com/news/galleries/anna_chapman_one_of_the_alleged_russian_spies_arre sted_by_the_fbi/anna_chapman_one_of_the_alleged_russian_spies_arre sted_by_the_fbi.html)

There is nothing new here. They have know about these people for years, but finally decided to arrest them for whatever reason. There are plenty more where these came from. News on exactly what kind of information they were passing on has been missing so far. That may be interesting, if we ever find out.

The next reality TV series: an all female "Top Shot". A Sandal's Big Break but with guns -- I like it!

This is the way espionage works with respect to the United States and Russia (and a buncha other countries in kind): think of it like a sort of wacky gentlemen's agreement. We've got handfuls of intel folks there, as they have here; when they're outed for whatever reason (perhaps they pressed their luck?), the home team snarls and walks it off and the away team shrugs and tosses hands, and it's back to business as usual.

At least we know fedoras and shoe phones are out, miniskirts and and iPhones are in. Can't decide if that's progress or not.
