Burj Dubai, originally purchased by Darley Stud for a million, but who had become a major head case before being gelded, won again yesterday against a field of very good sprinters. This one has the potential of being very good,

According to the trainer, he would not train otherwise and that is why he was snipped.

Another good decision by Darley/Godolphin to get rid of him. Maybe they will buy him back for 10 times what he is really worth and point him to the 2012 Golden Shaheen.

This guy has to be the second coming of Kelso to be worth anything close to a million dollars.

They should of let him have a little tail... my stud is always in a much better mood after a romp. :D

We had a horse that would lose his focus if a filly was in heat within a 1/4 mile... his nose was in the air hunting it. We used a dab of Vic's to mask the scent and he's get his mind back into the game. ;)

Coarse now days that probably violate some drug test and be accused of cheating. Well the Vic's made him breath better and gave the horse an unfair advantage.

Still a shame... but it's not my Mil that landed in the bin. That's just part of the game.

Was that race at Hastings Park? IMO, Hastings and 'very good horse' simply don't go together.

I guess he's doing pretty well over there at Hastings Park.

But let's see what he can do at a place like Emerald Downs or Fairplex.

That Canadian dough ain't worth the snow its printed on.

Depends on who said it.

A horse racing enthusiast or a snowbound prospector on his way to the Yukon for the Klondike Gold Rush who's been forced to eat his mount.

There's a world of difference in that mouthful.

George Royal (Horse of the year in Canada and two time San Juan Capistrano winner), Traveling Victor (Canadian Horse of the Year) and many others raced here, Regal Intention, Devils Orchid (1991 Santa Monica Hdcp), can't recall the name but ran second in the Hollywood Futurity, and many others. The very good don't REMAIN here, but move on like Jumron who hit the board in the K. Derby (4th), Kid Katabatic (LGA Mile winner), Tropper Seven (twice LGA Mile winner) etc etc etc

So far this season,. Emerald shippers have only run second

Fairplex? they wouldn't go there...usually ship to Northern California

Were you agreeing or trying to prove otherwise? Sort of hard to tell when you use Jumron.

To be fair, it's not just about public and private purchases with Godolphin.

They're also a force in the breeding side of things. On the same card yesterday as Burj Dubai, Darley was winning breeder of the first race at Hastings Park with a daughter of Rahy out of a Storm Cat mare. Maiden claiming $10,000 (Canadian Funds).
