Just a couple months ago we had Sears strangling Likeabatoutofhell to let his uncoupled stablemate Arch Madness in a hole while floating from PP 9.

In tonight's NJSS final for 3yo Filly trotters we have Brennan strangling his horse to let his uncoupled stablemate, Glide Power driven by Sears, in a hole from PP 9.

Do these drivers or people in the industry realize that there are people betting on these races?

It's just sickening watching stuff like this go on.

Well, they ran 1-2 and it worked, but many could argue it might have cost Brennan the win or gift-wrapped the win for Sears.

Who cares anymore......Harness racing is becoming WWF.

Speaking of black eyes, or maybe black clouds, how about Dave "Blue Funk" Miller plowing into Johnny "5-Percenter" Campbell in the seventh ? They didn't lock wheels; Gerald N Sam got his hooves rolled over. Something like that can compromise a horse's trip. .

Maybe they are putting something in the water cooler in the M1 Driver's Room....:D

I am a part-owner of Gerald N Sam via the Funky Munky partnership.

Gerald N Sam appears to have escaped any major injury, but we will find out for sure on Monday.

It happens in thoroughbred racing too. Shake The Bank was entered in many of Better Talk Now's races to enhance the early pace, giving his stablemate a shot at winning. Many times, Better Talk Now and Shake The Bank were uncoupled. Despite the fact that Shake The Bank was merely a rabbit for Better Talk Now, people still bet on him. The last I heard, nobody left the track screaming about that.

Anyone remember when Lukas entered Comanche Trail in the '94 Travers to set the race up for Tabasco Cat? Comanche Trail had no shot against the great Holy Bull. People bet the horse anyway, despite the fact that the horse had no shot or intention of winning. Again, nobody protested. People think that the game is meant to be played like this sometimes.

This is just part of the handicapping process. Favors are done all the time on the racetrack...a lot of them are predictable.
