Had the top four Belmont Stakes finishers as top 4 (not in order). Box all 4 and you hit a 5k super!

Good stuff PA!

Good show Mike! That's a quite a feat for anyone if they can select 4 horses out a field of 12, and have all those picks finish in the top 4. Hope you collected on something on that race, whether it was a straight or gimmick bet.

I haven't seen a post from him. He must have bet and be celebrating. I see a headache in his future. Nice job.

Well, you guys got the part right about the headache and the celebrating, but I must confess, I did not bet any superfectas in the Belmont.

In fact, my most profitable race of the day came immediately after the Belmont, but that's all I'm going to say because I don't want to be killed for red boarding.

I guess this will teach me to expand my horizons even more when I'm willing to completely throw the post time favorite out the window like I did with Ice Box in the Belmont. I was so keyed in on Fly Down that I never put much faith into Drosselmeyer winning, although obviously I thought he'd run well...

12th or 13th? Give us a hint! That 13th was a buster! $13K superfecta, better than the Belmont payout.

Maybe I'm weird, but I love hearing about big wins....(although for some reason, it seems to generate displeasure for some.)

Somebody I don't even know wins the lotto or a huge pick 6, I revel in the "feeling of it", gives me a moment to feel good, imagining what a rush it feels like.

They were the only four horses who had a race within 30 days. Makes sense, running a mile and a half on a thirty day rest from an actual race is a tough task, especially for younger horses.

06/05/10 Belmont Park 11 c $1.00 SPR 5,7,8,11 (Box) $24.00 $0.00 $5,329.00

I had it, but was left fuming when NYRA stewards didn't even look at First Dude's drifting out (as admitted in postrace interviews with Ramon Dominguez) in the last 10 or 20 yards. Garcia was forced to pull a Cordero-on-Slew-O-Gold-1984-BC-Classic move, and I believe it may have cost him a placing. Heck, I'd love a Drosselmeyer-Game on Dude-FlyDown-First Dude finish, or even have Game On Dude for 3rd....may have been a couple of grand more...

Good capping Mike, still, I feel for you on Fly Down....I too, thought that FD was the annointed one in this race, but all I got was the place price and the $1 part of the ex....

Well don't get me wrong here, as I'm quite the appreciative sort when it comes to lady luck and opportunity. But I felt Game on Dude and Martin Garcia were very live in this race, and was in a position to put in a much better-than-expected performance than those 17-1 odds would indicate. I felt the breeding was there. Martin already showed how dangerous he could be near the lead with Champagne D'Oro (in his first ride ever at Belmont?) a few races before...

First Dude was tiring. I felt that had he maintained a straight course, when viewing the head on replay, then Game on Dude may have gotten 3rd or even 2nd. But at that point so late in the race, when it's becoming a staggerfest home...checking your horse puts him right out of contention...

I feel many had Fly Down in the first or second positions in the super. But not many would have had both Drosselmeyer and Game on Dude in the first 2 positions, and hence that super may have paid more like 7 or 8 large for a buck...factor in the mandatory tax and you'll see how a few thou makes a bit of a difference in this game...
