PA your post is too modest. It should read something to the effect:

Beyer Bashers :

This challenge is for you.

I will be posting my plays for Wednesday, June 2 at Belmont.

If you can beat them, go for it.

The column on the left of PA's picks is the only one to use.
If his first pick is scratched, then the next horse to the right is used.
If the second pick is scratched, then the third horse is used.
In your own instance, your # 4 was the one on the left and it lost.

I don't put them in any order but :6: will be out front with :4: :5: chasing that one to the wire. between the latter, four would be a better choice but the odds stink...Overall this would be an easy one to pass altogether. Also if :1: ran back to previous form, that one would be coming at the wire as well.

Ralph S. a good friend reminded me all the time, "Don't ever think of a race as having a single winner as you will get frustrated and lose a lot of money. Shot gun them."

no I look at a race as having probabilities of coming to fruition in various scenarios and then compare MY probabilities to the board probabilities and try to play the overlay like most rational people do

You're lucky that I was too late with my selections ;)All I see is a guy who posted his picks after the 6th race went official. Taking races 7-9, you and I had the same number of top choice winners.

So, if I'm reading this thread right, NO infamous PaceAdvantage Beyer bashers (except for 46zilzal) showed up to challenge me...

And 46zilzal states that he doesn't even list his horses in any order whereby I can easily figure out who his top pick is...can someone figure this out for me?

I mean, I know my little mechanical Beyer method made money AGAIN today, but are you guys really this chicken shit?

And this isn't meant to be a "post as you go" thread. This is meant to be a place where you put your picks up BEFORE the first race goes off...just like I do...

So, I am going to conclude that the score remains the same:

I have gone back through 46Zil's posts. I took his first stated number in each of the threads he posted.

Race 1 :4: see Post 6 Lost
Race 2 :1: see Post 10 Won $ 5.30
Race 3 :4: see Post 14 Won $ 5.70
Race 4 :6: see Post 16 Won $ 3.10
Race 5 :6: see Post 21 Won $ 4.90
Race 6 Pass see Post 24
Race 7 :1: see Post 26 Loss
Race 8 :1: see Post 30 Loss
Race 9 :2: see Post 33 Loss

Total win = 4

Total won = $ 19.00

R.O.I = 18 %

Try it again and the results, long term, will be the same....Beyers are the equivalent to only reading the last chapter of a novel and thinking you understand the plot which took place from chapter one until then....malarkey as it NEVER discovers improving early speed.

46zilzal
06-03-2010, 01:43 AM
Limiting one's outlook to a single horse is really dumb.....Give out 5 points for a win 3 for a place and 1 for a show....TO only look for the winner is ridiculous since every race has a myriad of possibilities and it is the frugal handicapper who realizes that and bets accordingly.

I'm involved Friday through Sunday and then make spot plays at Fort Erie on Monday. I go to the track those days and have never bet or watched races on my computer. Wednesdays are a matinee movie with the wife or a visit with my daughter and grandsons. I expected your next post would be Belmont day and planned to participate in this non-reality show then. It's not real because no one handicaps a race card and bets $2 win on his first choice in all the races. The last time I did this I had one chalky winner but a few exotic bets put me just ahead of break even. I'll post a single pick for the game and then post some exotics using the same amount of money.
