First round at Colonial, and JD has a bogey free 4 under par.
He was playing well in his last event too but withdrew after starting the last round. I never knew if you made the cut and withdrew later you get no money, but he did it twice in a row which is how I learned.

I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Hooters in Clearwater 2 years ago. He is exactly who he appears to be. I liked him. Hes a big fan of Coach Cal (John Calipari), but I don't know now that hes moved from Memphis to Kentucky. It would be so great for golf if he got it together and even just once in awhile made the leader board on Sunday. Blue collar golf fans love JD. A whole different breed from the bandwagon, hero worshipers that TW has, or should I say, used to have.

Early in round 2 and JD is 6 under.
I'm rooting for the older guys, VJ, Kenny Perry, etc., and hopeful that JD's efforts don't go to waste.
Maybe JD really didn't appreciate his abilities and accomplishments until it was almost too late. He's put forth a lot of effort to get back there. Maybe it's an ego trip but I think it's going to provide a great lesson for junior golfers, more so than anything TW might do. To be blunt: my estimation of JD is he has humbled himself, emptying out the vessel, in order to make the changes required, whereas TW appears to only want to do the minimum.

With the projected cut currently at -1, JD is getting to play during the weekend.
Oh, Phil, you're going the wrong way. Cue the fat lady.
I've been to several tournaments and seen the good and bad of Daly. He can be the nicest guy in the world, and he can be a total ass. I still root for him despite the bad days. He is a regular guy.

has anyone ever played @ Colonial? I played it in 1972 or 73 when I was in HS. Very tight. They really took the game seriously out there. I wonder if they changed it much over the yrs.
Had a supplier offer a pass for sat & sun, last week. That was hard to turn down (i don't accept gifts from suppliers), lot of cougars out in Goat Hills for the tourney.
