Today,Sat.5-22-10 at Hollywood Park,the early pick 4 paid $13.60...

Has anyone ever had a pick 4 pay less? Yes, there were 4 favorites in a row.

There was another unusual circumstance with the payout. before the running the eventual winner was to pay $28 for the pick 4,but another horse was scratched at the gate...so they paid the horse that won the race( #2 Where's the Remote) $13.60 for the pick 4 and paid the holders of tickets for the scratched horse in the pick4 ( #8 Prince of Gothem) the same as the winner.... Does not seem fair to me.

What do you think?

No reason to run if you can scratch and get paid the same as the winner !

I seem to remember a $9.00 group Pk-4 the PA group had at Saratoga one year (maybe we missed it and the will pay was $9.00 had we hit it  )

One time at old Roosevelt Raceway, a $3 Pick 4 paid $3.90.

The win payoffs in the sequence was $2.60, $2.10, $2.20 and $2.10. That's one bad thing about the trotters, stakes races tend to favor odds-on chalk, and all four races were stakes.

I see a $3.10 at Le Bois (July 11, 2006) and a $4.00 at Saratoga (Aug. 8, 2008) in my database that has about 4 years of data available.

I only played the last 3 races at Hollywood.
The first horse out of the gate won.
Fact. My late Pick 3, that I happened to get paid diddlysquat considering the number of entrants in each race.

He's the guy who makes those boxes of chicken fingers.

But I could be wrong.

The Saratoga pick 4 was an early pick 4 and the races got cancelled after the first race. They had to pay winner, all, all, all.
