Garrett Gomez was thrown off his horse coming out of the gate in the 7th at Monmouth and appeared to get kicked by the horse's back legs and has been replaced for, at least, the 8th race. Anyone at Monmouth have an update? Hope he is ok.

Preliminary reports are that he will be ok. He is off the rest of his mounts.

He may have an elbow injury as well. Time will tell. It is a very dangerous game.

That's what I saw as well, just didn't want to speculate if I couldn't be 100% sure.

Very good up until the 10th race then it really thinned out. Kulina and crew were very happy. Day 1 was a huge success.

Free admission had to help the gate today, and it got a little raw outside as the day moved on. The women get cold and want to leave as well as those who under dress for a day in the stands. Nice crowd though and teller lines werenot bad. They might want to consider moving up first post by 2o minutes to 12:30ish though and cut to 12 races. They should also have rolling p3s even when the p4/5 start a leg and go to 50 cent p4 and tri like kentucky.
