One prediction I read early on in the healthcare debate was that Doctors would just opt out and become "cash only" family practitioners etc and Dentists might do the same. I also read that large specialty practice groups like Cardiologists etc might open clinics in the Caribbean and Mexico and that some had even bought options on land in these places. After reading the article above about Doc's just dropping out of Medicare....... it makes me wonder if some of these things might be true and our future is avoiding the Government all together when it comes to Medical Treatment. Need a bypass, fly to Bermuda for it. The Mexican Riviera for other surgeries etc.

It is going to be an interesting ten years coming up.........especially if you are older than fifty.........

best thing to do i always felt was to avoid the medical system
eat healthy
exercise
keep your weight down
that's what i do haven't seen a doctor or been involved in the health system for years.

A lot of my friends contended that move long ago as the HMO bean counters were telling them how to practice and they are sick to death of it....Medical people should prescribe medical procedures not accountants.
