"By Ben West and Scott Stewart

Faisal Shahzad, the first suspect arrested for involvement in the failed May 1 Times Square bombing attempt, was detained just before midnight on May 3 as he was attempting to depart on a flight from Kennedy International Airport in New York. Authorities removed Shahzad, a naturalized U.S. citizen of Pakistani descent, from an Emirates Airlines flight destined for Dubai. On May 4, Shahzad appeared at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York in Manhattan for his arraignment.

Authorities say that Shahzad is cooperating and that he insists he acted alone. However, this is contradicted by reports that the attack could have international links. On Feb. 3, Shahzad returned from a trip to Pakistan, where, according to the criminal complaint, he said he received militant training in Waziristan, a key hub of the main Pakistani Taliban rebel coalition, the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Authorities are reportedly seeking three other individuals in the United States in connection with the May 1 Times Square bombing attempt."

CONCLUSION:

"The tactical reality is that the government simply cannot identify all potential attackers in advance and thwart every attack. Some suspects will inevitably fly under the radar.

This reality flies in the face of the expectation that governments somehow must prevent all terrorist attacks. But the uncomfortable truth in the war against jihadist militants is that there is no such thing as complete security. Given the diffuse nature of the threat and of the enemy, and the wide availability of soft targets in open societies, there is simply no intelligence or security service in the world capable of identifying every aspiring militant who lives in or enters a country and of pre-empting their intended acts of violence."

Then should we not apply the libs' view of our immigration laws to this fact? According to libs, we can't stop illegal immigration, which is the excuse they use for trampling on the laws. The laws are simply not enforceable. So, then, since we can't stop all terrorist attacks in the U.S., why make it illegal? Why not give the terrorists their way? In fact, we could use the libs' immigration excuse and apply them to numerous laws. None of the laws are effective in stopping all crime -- all illegal activities. So, why not repeal those laws? Obviously, the libs do not believe in the rule of law, so why pretend any longer? Let's make Anything Goes perfectly legal.

What sayest thou, libs?

We have stopped quite a few terrorist attempts. As usual you are rambling on about something you know nothing about. What are going to next, bring out a couple of Bible quotes like you always do when you have made a fool of yourself.

Drops off the PFinder in Times Square, rolls up to CT and has to call his landlord to let him in because he left his only door key on the key chain in the PFinder.

It's true. He was trained by Pakistanis.

Back in the '80s when Paul Harvey was in his heyday, I remember listening to him talk about having dinner at the White House with his wife as guests of the Reagans. Harvey said that he and the president talked long about many things. He asked Ronnie something to the effect of "What can we do about illegal immigration?" Reagan's response: "Paul, I just don't know." Harvey said that concerned him because of the president's deep sense of foreboding in his tone.

The libs may not have a clue, but this issue goes way beyond any belief system.

But we haven't stopped all. And I could also say, we have caught a fair number of illegals crossing the border, so what's your point? I'm simply using liberal logic as to why you and your ilk are all in favor of the U.S. government shirking its constitutional responsibility for securing our borders. I know you find it absurd. But...that's what liberals are.

P.S. Don't take this personal either. After all...Liberalism is a disease. ;)
