Borel derby starts

Does anybody on this forum know how many starts Borel has had in the Kentucky Derby? I tried to get this infor but haven't been successful. I would be supprised if he had over 10.

I just read this info recently. Someone will soon chime in with the answer. I think he had 4 or 5 starts prior to Street Sense, no real contenders.

Thanks,I was pretty sure it wasn't many and probably he wouldn't have got the ride on Super Saver except for the owners thought he was a good fit for the horse.

This goes back a ways and I don't think I missed any. Calvin is a old hard boot journeyman and has paid his dues.

Listening to a Sports Radio Station out of Baltimore this afternoon and they are doing pre-game for the Orioles etc......

One guy asks the other announcer, "How many Derby's has Calvin Borel Won? "

The other guy says " Three, I think, they asked him how many and it took him a while to count to 3 "

Hardy har har!! Kind of Pissed me off.......... I wondered to myself if this guy knows how much money Calvin has made in the last three years ?

I am not sure what money has to do with anything, but Borel has, among other things:

(1) Sat on the back of Kentucky Derby winners
(2) Been invited to the White House to hang out with a U.S. President
(3) ... and the Queen of England

That is 3 higher than I can count. Same for that guy who is stuck calling Orioles games.
