well most of them anyway. I have found many of these parodies to be really hilarious, but now they are being taken down because of copyright infringement claims from the filmaker. Personally I think its a mistake, they've rec'd a huge amount of publicity for this film via the parodies. The Downfall is the name of the film, I haven't seen the real thing but it looks pretty well done. Maybe after they get a bunch of attention for this they will restore them.

anyway, here is one that is still up. Of course in this one Hitler is lamenting that the parodies have been taken down. hilarious. some cussing in the subtitles in case that bothers you.

There were a few taken down before. I sense you're telling us a lot more are now down as well. Glad the new one is up, at least for a while.

Thats too bad, even though i have seen the same scene with at least a dozen parodies..its still funny. Last year there were a bunch of Hitler/Washington Redskin skits...absolutely hilarious. rbj

"...they're doing nothing while letting these ******** Nazis start destroying the world!"

"Don't worry. He'll realize the irony soon."

Hitler `Downfall' Parodies Removed From YouTube (http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory?id=10441189)

Popular Hitler `Downfall' parodies removed from YouTube; company cites copyright infringement

"Downfall," a German film released in 2004 about Hitler's last days, has been adopted for wildly popular YouTube parodies that have spanned mock rants about topics as varied as playing Xbox (http://topics.abcnews.go.com/topic/Xbox) video games to Kanye West (http://topics.abcnews.go.com/topic/Kanye-West) to Apple's new iPad (http://topics.abcnews.go.com/topic/iPad).
Every spoof is from the same scene in the film: A furious, defeated Hitler, played by Bruno Ganz, unleashes an impassioned, angry speech to his remaining staff, huddled with him in his underground bunker.

The scene takes on widely different meaning when paired with English subtitles about, say, a late-season collapse by the New York Mets (http://topics.abcnews.go.com/topic/New-York-Mets). Most any subject could be — and was — substituted, made even funnier by the scene's intense melodrama, artful staging and timely cutaways.

It was the meme that refused to die — until it did.

On Tuesday, the clips on YouTube, many of which had been watched by hundreds of thousands, even millions, began disappearing from the site. Constantin Films, the company that owns the rights to the film, asked for them to be removed, and YouTube complied.

Martin Moszkowicz, head of film and TV at Constantin films in Munich (http://topics.abcnews.go.com/topic/Munich), said the company had been fighting copyright infringement for years. Jewish organizations have also complained about the tastefulness of the clips, he said.

No need to re-run the same footage. With a modicum of effort one can find clips that lend themselves well in this regard.

Some genius assembled one of these and I found it state of the art.

The uninventive return to the same trough.

I can't make up my mind whether this is a "vast right wing conspiracy" or a "communist plot". Right now I am leaning toward "communist plot", but have an open mind on the subject.;)

Saw this one in connection with the Toronto Maple Leafs a few months back and their 43 year absence from winning the Stanley Cup. Some excellent craft goes into the writing of these things...;) It was fall down funny...

I agree that the film is great, btw !

Happy belated natal day, tt.

Mackie, that has to be at least the second or third time you've used "City of the Lost Children". Must be one of you fave's -- I know it's one of mine.

Regarding Hitler, I learned recently from a History channel program that he really messed up when he would not increase production of the Messerschmitt jet and would only use it defensively. Thank God.

I'm biased because I posted the "Hitler reacts to Odysseus being off the Derby Trail", but that was arguably one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Something about risking Armageddon by messing with Mother's Earth's fragile ecological balance, as I recall. .

Many of them are still up on You Tube, including this one in which Hitler, the Notre Dame fan, discovers that Charlie Weis will be back for the 2009 season:
