View Full Version : International breakdown statistics are like international infant mortality rates

The idea that they are even remotely accurate is hilarious,

like the US brings more fetuses to full term than anywhere else,
it makes sense the US infant mortality rate would be higher than places that do not bring as many babies to full term-like the Phillipines.

US race horses run faster than anyone else's in the world,

speed leads to greater physical forces which lead to greater breakdowns.
This is basic physics 101.

But the idea of trusting international breakdown stats all the while most of them can't even come up with a proper racing form is hysterical-telll me again those raggedy POS that they show fr South America breakdown less than US horses-I am in the mood for the gospel like adoption of such garbage by the one world order nits.

This would be why the bullshit surfaces unanimously slow down racing and deaden rail to widen the arc on the turn-they using simple physics to ruin the sport to enable scumbag trainers to run less sound stock-nothing more-maybe Dickinson will be around again soon to tell us abt the tapeta cushion and how fair it plays when losing ground on it is a bonus and not a handicap.

You are missing the biggest point of all. NO OTHER JURISDICTION ON EARTH allows the levels of anti-inflammatories in their systems to hide the pain that would normally stop a horse running on a bad limb.

Drug the animals and they will run never having the natural built. in warning system

Drug the animals and they will run never having the natural built. in warning system I agree 100%. IMO, this whole synthetic surface "fiasco" we see today, is a direct result of the racing industry's reluctance to address the real reason for the devastating injuries that occur at the racetrack.

The dirt surfaces have nothing to do with it. They have been in place for decades, and yet the frequency of the "break-downs" has only become apparent in recent years. The obvious reason is DRUGS.

The equine athlete, just like its human counterpart, would never fully extend itself on a hurting limb, to the extent of having it break down completely. The horse would slow down and eventually stop. The only way a "hurting" horse would extend itself to the point of breaking down would be if it were "loaded" with numbing agents (cobra venom etc...), and was unaware of the serious injury to its limbs.

The industry does not want to deal with any more drug controversies, so the blame is conveniently placed on the racing surface...
