I'm in the midst of another wicked losing streak. Too bad there's no way to know if one is in the middle, the end or maybe the start of a new personal/world record. I wonder how others handle it. I use a 5 step process...

1. Cut down on the size of my bets, usually $10 to $5 to $2 on win bets, $5 down to $2 on str exactas.
2. Raise MAO on win bets from 5/2 to 5/1, conditional.
3. Start boxing or wheeling on exotics, going for increased strike rate at ROI's expense.
4. Take a break, play on paper.
5. Quit.

I have reached step 4 in the past, I'm looking at step 3 now.

For my posts here at PA, I try to put up longshots, so usually go with Key Boxing, my other plays are all straight Exactas and sometimes, Trifectas.

Try to end the current streak with these, bet Win if odds >5/1 and Key Box Exactas

Dover R5............1 w/5,6 ...Charlie-6/1
Rail draw could offset class up, Like the 5 enough to box all 3

The BigM R10........1,4 .....Luck Goes Around-4/1
Won't get my MOA on the 1 but like boxing 1-4 with Sears driving the 4

Meadows R7..........5 w/7,6 ...Tahiti Springs-12/1
Aaron "Tailgates" Stillings the 7? The 6 gets Palone for the first time

Rideau-Carleton R4..5 w/2,6 ...Scilla De Chakrika-8/1
Lifetime 6 wins, Earnings $42108. How does she get in this race?
(Nw 2 (fm 3) Races Or Nw $30,000 (fm $37,500) Lifetime)

Good Luck All

Can I wish myself Good Luck?:)

I just cut back on my bets till my luck changes.
I once lost 27 straight at the Big M, deflates the
ego and the bankroll :bang: .
Hope you don't reach my streak, good luck today

good luck Ray!

For me I tend to use only a two step process: 1- reduce wager size, 2- take a break. taking a break allows me to recharge my emotional batteries as well as re-build the bank roll...:)

Ray you're a terrific trots handicapper. I'm sure you have run cold before. It happens to all of us. Like your list. stick to it!
Just dont reach for anything or change the way you handicap. It will come back.
Hang in there RacinBro!!

Thx guys, I'll keep plugging away.....

My past wagering records show this is around the time of year I pull out of it.
This streak is not as bad as the one in the winter of 08-09
