Karelian gets a Grade 1

Karelian won the G1 Makers Mark Mile at Keeneland this afternoon over Court Vision. The stakes record performance under Julien Leparoux was a reversal of the results of last Fall's G1 Shadwell Turf Mile when Court Vision beat Karelian by a nose.

Is Julien on a streak or what!! I was rooting for Court Vision.

Being a Gio Ponti fan, it makes me feel a little bit better that Karelian came back to take down a Grade I.
