He might as well stay in office - he has already sold his integrity.

All the worst to him.

My guess is that after he retires we will find out the price.

The chairman of the full Energy and Commerce Committee, Rep. John Dingell, now in his 28th term in the House from the Detroit area and just shy of his 84th birthday,( I think) should also consider throwing in the towel. It is amazing how these pols think that they are indispensable and make a lifetime career out of a position that should be limited in term.

right, you could win but are retiring. Sure thing Bart, we're all buying that one. happens all the time in congress.

He's from the UP of Michigan, I think its safe to say his new career will not be in Michigan.

he'll be taken care of rest assured. he's a made man now, he can't be touched. Rahm Emmanuel will introduce him to a lobbying firm, "this is Bart, he's a friend of our's. I can vouch for this guy"

uh-oh, another retirement rumor from Laura Ingrahams twitter page. oh say it ain't so Barney.

"Sources tell me Bawney Fwank won't run for re-election. Wants to work on the board of a bank and make $ before retirement #tcot (http://twitter.com/search?q=%23tcot) @AllahPundit (http://twitter.com/AllahPundit)"

18 years is long enough for anyone. I would love term limits. If it is good enough for the president, it is good enough for everyone. Even you hate the president as much as i did Bush, I was always comforted by the fact that in 2009 he would be gone. The same applies for those who hate Obama. In 2017, he be gone, maybe sooner, but 2017 for sure. I wish could say the same thing about Jon Kyl or Richard Shelby. JMO

All these guys are doing is retiring to an ultra-comfy taxpayer-sponsored pension and a life as lobbyist for some company that greased them the entire time they were in office.

I agree. My Congressman is a really good dude, usually votes the way I want him too, and supports local businesses. He is also older than dirt (he is the last WWII vet in the House) and has been there forever. As much as I like him, we need someone else in there, unfortunately no one with any credibility wants to run against him because he is so popular in the district. They are all waiting for him to die or retire.

The rotten apples are starting to fall off the trees.

And it can't happen fast enough! Now, the $64.is: After the old Evil Trees are uprooted, will the ground be planted with Stupid Trees in their place? If it does, you can kiss the country good-bye. For example, Newt Gingrich hasn't ruled out running for president. Also, according to some, Romney will be the GOP presidential front runner. (The nation needs these two pinheads like a hole in the head.) I don't trust Newt; for he has been around the Beltway too long. And who needs Romney another RINO? Plus Steele has to go as RNC chairman. Right now, it's even money that the Party of Stupid will blow this opportunity. It seems that the GOP is still very inclined to go Socialism-Lite, thanks in large part to Steele.

My wife and I have made up our minds already for the next elections: We will NOT vote for any RINO. We will stay home. If RINO candidates are the best the Republican Party can do, then why prolong the agony with more incremental, slow bleeding socialism?

Boxcar I'm right with you up to a point. I agree that Republicans need to get past some of these Rino retreads. Newt I don't trust any further than I could throw him, and Romney does not inspire me. I think we need to go to the next tier and find some sharp fresh faces with some fire in the belly.

but with that said, I will not stay home even if if it ends up to be a Newt or Romney. Even with their faults, either of them would be so much better than what we have now in my view.

Boxcar MY MAN!!!

I salute you , even if you don't care to be saluted!

Starve this thing dead, Norquist had the right idea , he may not have known it in this light...kill it in the crib , starve the gvt to death.

Boycott-don't pay your mtg-nothing-pull your money out- go local-strike this illegal corrupt mess.

You don't get rid of weed by clipping off the top, you got to root hog or die!!!!!!

The system is so overgrown and so corrupt that voting will not fix it.

Once in the "system" will corrupt all over again. Newt and many of his bunch went there with good intent, ya can't do it from there anymore.

steele as i said several years ago when he was anointed "the great black face"(sorry pa you were wrong on this as well at the time) was and would be a disgrace. sorry it turned out even worse than i suspected at the time.

If you heard the guy for 10minutes unplugged you knew what he was.

The RNC is spending money on strip clubs and such.
Fire everyone in charge there and go pick people up off the streets. You wll end up with far more capable people, far more honest people, and far more trustworthy people.

Hell, go stand outside a prison and grab people coming out on parole and you will dwarf the leadership skills of Michael Steel.

Zero tolerance for RINOS. Make them an endangered species.
And Newt worked with Hillary - automatic throw out.

what is becoming popular is for people to directly support candidates they like.
when you come across a candidate you want to support, regardless of whether they are in your district or not, or even your state, you can connect via their website or facebook and cut out the middleman.

It beats sending money to the RNC kingmakers, who needs them? It frees them up so they can have more time for the strip clubs, on their own dime.
