Anybody interested in the races at Aintree across the pond this week? They're getting ready for the Grand National and it looks like full fields might yield some nice prices...

Question: how does the betting work when one wagers on an ADW when it comes to Aintree? Does anyone know the host track and if pools are comingled or totally separate when it comes to N. American wagers placed during this Grand National meeting?

Big Bucks will be a huge odds on favorite for the opener, a 3 and 1/16th hurdle. He's 7 for 7 the last two years and looks to be the class of the field and perhaps another easy win? Handles any ground. Well, we already knew that...

The value may be in the exactas. Looks like punters will pound Tidal Bay second with the scratch of Time for Rupert. I'd look at Kayf Aramis with Paddy Brennan aboard. This one didn't run that badly at Cheltenham last out over yielding ground, and with 13 bridesmaid finishes, he might surprise in the exacta pools. Souffleur is in great form and could also make it a run for second...

The races at Cheltenham are very competitive and can leave thier mark on horses that go from Cheltenham to Aintree a few weeks later, also, Aintree is a totally different track to Cheltenham, Aintree is mainly flat, where Cheltenham has undalations and a siff uphill finish which puts more emphasis on stamina.

So be wary of these variables and look for "fresh" horses or horses that were fancied at Cheltenham and fell early on, got pulled up or have previous good runs around Aintree.

Hope this helps, all the best.

Bet the Irish horses first second and third. THEY are the best stayers.

Great insight on the Cheltenham to Aintree transition. There's no handicapping like trying to 'cap the Fox Hunters' Chase with 21 horses to separate..
