That tremor was commented on at SA by the HRTV presenters....it happened just as the horses approached the finish in the 7th race......scary!

The epicenter is down in Mexico, more or less at the very northern part of the Sea of Cortez, which is right where the San Andreas fault lies. If there is going to be major damage as a result, it will be in the Imperial Valley and areas of Baja California.

6.9 is pretty good sized, glad it was far enough south not to hit you guys too bad. The coast has been rocking this year.

Drive up to Del Mar to a large gathering of freinds, get out of the car and the ground is rolling about. Get into the gathering & the entire pool looks like the Bering Sea. People in from Jersey. The mother of three kids locked herself in the bathroom for a half an hour after the quake. She's still freaked out while her kids are having a ball.

Upped it to 7.2, and another in No Cal at 4.1.
They showed a backyard swimming pool where the water just shook out all over the yard.

Maybe the better question would be: Has anyone ever paid attention to what Jesus prophesied about everything that would characterize the end days?

There's a link that has quake's ID'd in 3D (up to last 7 days)....Have it bookmarked at work, don't have it handy....That sucker is bound to look "busy".

Hope this is all the quakes for you guys, for awhile. Major (damage) quakes is the last thing Calif needs to deal with

Yes I have and do..... After all, this is the "Generation of the Fig-Tree"...For those of you not familar with this parable, one in which Jesus said to "LEARN", btw....It is about the return of Israel (the fig-tree) in 1948, from the scattering of the 10-tribes in 70AD, over the caucas's (mtns) and then throughout the world and then back again to the land that God promised & gave them from the beginning...

Mark 13:28...."Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near."

Mark 13:30...."Verily I say unto you, that this generation (fig-tree/Israel returned) shall not pass till all these things be done..(read signs and warnings in previous verses of chapter 13)

Well, we are now living in that generation....One only has to use his imagination after knowing this...

How can that be, seeing that he is a "Nobel Peace" prize-man, and all....Right ?

He only has our best interests at heart.... Right ?...

And he is so full of "love" or "something".... Right?...

He has done so much to change this nation for the better....Right ?

Everyone loves him....Right ? (well, at least all the obedient "Brown or Red shirts, love him so)

Do I love him?....Sieg_Heil NO !....I still don't even know where he came from...Like out of the mist or something ?...One of "History's Mysterys" for sure...

It was pretty much business as usual at Los Al during and after the shaker. Yours truly is very blase about quakes, have been through so darned many of them. Figure that if I am still alive when things stop moving then its ok, if not, then it wont matter to me. Rather interesting in that many are absolutely terrified during and after a quake. Often these are persons from the East that have never experienced one. Now hurricanes and tornados do frighten me, hope to never have to go through one. Give me a good old fashioned California earthquake every time, rather than those killer winds.

If gold is good enough for the "streets" in heaven, why would you want to carry around worthless paper in your pockets? ;)

But to answer your question: What does it matter? The inhabitants of that place will never be in want for anything. That place is the real utopia. ;)

Just a darn shame things are such as they are up yonder. I forget when I'm up there. I says to myself, I says: Is this Oregon?

That said with the assumption Oregon is confused. And they are.

5.7 mag. at 9:26 PDT. Ho hum, no big deal. Soft gentle roll in OC. Did not even bother to stop what I was doing on the computer. My cat just briefly raised her head and then went back to sleep, and she is usually pretty alert to these things. One of the LA TV stations was on the story at once, watched for a awhile, and then went to bed. Been through too many of these things to get excited about them, although realistically, the next one could be my last one, as it could kill me.

andymays
06-15-2010, 09:24 AM
These things are becoming a common occurrence out here. On one hand you think that maybe it's relieving the pressure and we will avoid the big one. On the other hand maybe the big one is right around the corner. Last night I was expecting that one to keep going and get worse. Glad it didn't.

For those that care to do the research, there are websites that assign risk ratings for natural disasters such as earthquakes for your area. Some parts of NorCal are pretty safe, mostly inland places, while other areas, such as the SF Bay area, are high risk. For those residing outside the West that believe they have no quake risk, they might be surprised to discover that this is not so.

Better if just enter earthquake risk map or earthquake risk chart, or something similar in your search engine. Lots of links, many with rather complex math formulas. Here are a couple to start, a risk map of the USA and the other a city guide that gives risk ratings under the weather section.
