I'd be a layer at 13/8 Eskendereya too.

I would rather book Eightyfiveinafifty at 16:1.

Hell, I would rather lay 116:1.

I would rather book Eightyfiveinafifty at 16:1.

Hell, I would rather lay 116:1.

Yeah, surprised to see him even listed but I guess they figure its a way to steal a bit from the uninformed public.

I would book the Sidney's Candy money as well. He's had ideal circumstances in his last two races.

I don't spot any steals in their listing. Odds at CD on May 1st better value.

Their KY Derby book over there is hardly a big earner for them, as it is not a high volume event, by their standards.

Here's a KY Derby list of all the best books from UK:

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/ante-post-racing/flat/kentucky-derby

Where you will see value from UK books is on sports futures, such as Super Bowl, MLB, NBA, etc.....

Their typical odds list will book to less than 140%.....go to any book in Las Vegas, and your odds will be sliced to bits in comparison.
Nevada Gaming Control would be well served to look at practices in the sports books within their state - their futures odds are a joke.

The public knows no better than to stick $100 on their favorite team to win the Super Bowl when they happen to be in LV. They care little about true odds, and the books in Nevada are aware of this. They book to such a high percentage because they can get away with it. That shouldn't be the case.

That's a pretty sharp line. Close to what I figured anyway.

If I was booking the race, I'd make some adjustments to the top 3 horses listed:

Eskendereya 5-2
Lookin at Lucky 5-1
Sidney's Candy 12 to 15-1

A sportsbook I use has Eskendereya at 3-1.

The English don't race on dirt and also are not very familiar with pace fractions, so I assume that the bookmakers over there will have different odds compared to what I would expect to be offered on this side of the ocean, where handicappers will be a little less keen on some of the recent big race winners due to the soft early fractions.
