Tout Revival!

Has anyone noticed lately the mail advertisements that tout horses? It seems as though they died out a few years ago but wow they have had a revival lately. John Piessen, who handicapped for the racing form, has an advertising campaign that is similar to some of the software ads we've talked about. Like the old touts some of his information will be for the bigger bettors only and of course will cost more. Sam Rothstein, out of Baltimore has mailers for the upcoming Saratoga and Delmar meets. Who was the famous author that said," The more things change the more they remain the same."

Sam Rothstein. Know where that name comes from? Casino. That was the name they used for the Lefty Rosenthal character. Too much. I have no doubt this guy picked that name deliberately. Too give him some "credibility". These touts are too much.

John Piesen seems like a total degnerate gambler to me. I sat next to him at a contest a few years ago and football was on some of the TV's (along with races) He was squirming, sighing and cursing with just about every play/race. Was shocked.
